For the second time in a row, “Descendants of the Sun” actress Song Hye Kyo did not attend an awards night even if co-actor Song Joong-ki came and fans expected to see them together again like what happened at the 52nd Baeksang Art Awards in June.
She skipped the Seoul Drama Awards in September and the 2016 APAN Awards on Sunday. There was no explanation from her why she did not attend the Korean Drama Awards, but for the Sunday event, she could not because Song Hye Kyo is in Italy. She has been posting photos from her stay in Capri and interacting with fans through Instagram.
Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong-ki were the winners of the Best Couple Award, while Song Joong-ki won the Grand Excellence Award (Daesang) for “Descendants in the Sun” and the Best APAN Star Award which he shared with five other Asian actors.
“Descendants of the Sun” also bagged the Drama of the Year award, while Jin Goo tied with “W” actor Kum Ui Sung for the Best Actor award and Kim Ji Won tied with Ye Ji Won of “Another Oh Hae Young” for the Best Actress award.
In her Instagram, Song Hye Kyo has been posting the past two days photos of Capri in Italy where she is vacationing. Her posts got thousands of “likes” from her followers who also congratulated her on her APAN award as well as shared their thoughts on reports that she and Song Joong-ki would no longer be in season 2 of “Descendants of the Sun.”
Songsongrina wrote that Song Hye Kyo “deserve all the awards in apan.” Larahbell27 congratulated her and Song Joong-ki for the award and expressed the sentiments of their fans for the songsongcouple to be a real couple.
Ge_maramis had the same message, saying, “We still hopes you both can be the real couple.” Paknteyp said she became a fan of the actress because of her series with the Big Boss, referring to Song Jong-ki.
