The CW seems to have done a good job with "Supergirl" Season 2 as the new clip teasers have shown for the show which is expected to tie in with "The Flash" and "Arrow."

One interesting part in the new trailer is Kal-El or Superman's phone call with one "Mr. Wayne" which everyone knows is Batman. It could be a small hint that "Gotham" could be coming to the already well-established DC TV universe.

Alas, there have been no confirmations from both networks regarding a future crossover. It also seems least likely considering that "Gotham" is still years away from showing the actual Batman.

Executive Producer Ali Adler told TVLine that the "Supergirl" Season 2 "Gotham" or Batman reference may just be a one-off, Screencrush has learned. The CW DC superhero shows already have several crossovers planned including a musical for "The Flash" in 2017.

"I feel like we have our hands full with the crossover we're shooting right now. I think people will be satisfied with how much crossover they're getting this season," Adler said.

"Supergirl" Season 2 also introduces Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, cousin of Supergirl played by Melissa Benoist. The new trailer shows two of them stopping an aircraft from burning and crashing into Earth.

John Williams' signature score from the original Superman films was used for the scene by a YouTube user and it fits perfectly even with "Supergirl" Season 2, /FILM reported. The trailer also shows the classic unveiling of Clark Kent as Superman through the ripping of his civilian clothes.

Showrunners have already confirmed that "Supergirl" will be crossing over with "The Flash" once again and even "Arrow." A "Gotham" crossover seems impossible at the moment but they could show their own version of a grown-up Bruce Wayne or Batman.

Superman was not shown in the first season of the show and now he seems to be playing a huge role in the "Supergirl" Season 2. It could mean that a Batman reveal could be possible soon considering that they managed to put The Man of Steel into the show's cast and DC TV universe.
