Apple is aggressively continuing doing business in mainland China as another of its stores opened just this Saturday in Shenyang, capital of China’s northeastern province of Liaoning.

This is Apple's first store in northeast China and is currently the company's 17th since its expansion plan began to reach some of China's biggest cities and municipalities.

Other stores are located in Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Wuxi, Shenzhen, and Chongqing.

Apple's expansion plan in the country took longer than expected as it was launched as early as 2010 and has given the smartphone manufacturer a boost in the international market.

According to Counterpoint Research as cited by Forbes, mobile phone retailers in about 33 countries have responded positively when surveyed about Apple's mobile phones.

"This has helped propel Apple's smartphone market share to above 12 percent, capturing third spot behind Lenovo and the market leader Xiaomi. iPhone 6 was the most popular iPhone model during November, accounting for more than two-thirds of the total iPhone sales," Counterpoint's Research Director Neil Shah stated, commenting on the firm's performance in the country.

He also noted that Apple had a greater portion of the sales in December and during the Chinese holiday in 2015 because of the improving supply of iPhone 6 Plus.

Aside from China, Apple's performance was also boosted in other Asian nations such as Japan and South Korea after it began opening branches to cater to iPhone and iPad enthusiasts in those countries.
