The 2016 Busan One Asia Festival recently opened its annual K-pop and Korean culture event with a star-studded concert. A total of 15 South Korean musicians and K-pop idol groups that included Girls' Generation, Apink, Infinite and Psy impressed concertgoers with their exciting performances.

Despite the gloomy weather on Oct. 1, Saturday, many fans gathered at the Busan Asiad Stadium to see some of their favorite South Korean singers and idol groups such as Girls' Generation, Infinite, Psy and more. Organizers of the 2016 Busan One Asia Festival prepared a memorable concert that featured a look at the history of Kpop, according to Yonhap News.

The line-up of performers represented some of the influential musicians and groups that made Korean music famous across the world. The K-pop idol group Sechs Kies, one of the popular bands during the 1990s, performed some of their former hit songs such as "The Way This Guy Lives" and "Hunch."

Girls' Generation and T-ara, two veteran girl groups that helped spread Korean music to other countries, also rocked the stage during the said event. Girls Generation wowed concertgoers with a rousing rendition of their hit track "Gee," while T-ara performed "So Crazy."

Infinite and Apink also took the stage, including the world-famous singer Psy whose song "Gangnam Style" even became popular in Hollywood. Other Korean groups and musicians who performed during the said event included MFBTY, Girl's Day, Block B, BTS, LABOUM, B.A.P, Lynn, B1A4, I.O.I. and DIA.

The opening ceremony of the 2016 Busan One Asia Festival was attended by both local and international fans. Avid Kpop lovers from countries such as Japan and Indonesia visited Korea to participate in the said event. In an interview with the same publication, Singapore student Rahman Khairi gushed over the Kpop female idol groups and other celebrities.

In other news, Psy is set to appear in tvN's upcoming awards ceremony titled "tvN10 Awards." The event's producers OSEN told local reporters that they already met with the "Gangnam Blues" crooner to talk about his performance, according to All Kpop.

The upcoming event will also honor some of the Korean stars who contributed to the success of the cable network's various programs. The "tvN10 Awards" will be held on Oct. 9.
