Several rumors have been circulating that hinted of Chris Pine's potential portrayal of multiple characters in the film "Wonder Woman." However, the actor clarified the said movie speculation in a recent interview.

Previous reports hinted that the upcoming film "Wonder Woman" may feature three story arcs set in different timelines. Some fans have speculated that Gal Gadot's co-star Pine may potentially play a second role given the said time periods. In an interview with Huffington Post, the actor clarified the rumors and confirmed that he will only portray one role in the film.

Moviegoers will only see the actor as the U.S. fighter pilot Steve, who is Wonder Woman's love interest in the film. The speculation that Pine may play Steve's grandfather in one of the movie's rumored timelines is not true.

Apart from setting the record straight about his role in the film, the actor also gushed over his co-star Gadot. Filming alongside the actress is a fun experience especially with the love line between Steve and Diana, Wonder Woman's alter-ego.

The upcoming movie's mix of comedy, action and romance also resulted in a memorable filming experience, according to Pine. The said elements even made the film unique given the love story that served as its focal point despite the action sequences.

"I think what's really ... different about it, actually, is that there's a nice love story at the center of an action film," Pine stated. "I don't think you see that often in these kinds of films."

In other news, veteran actress Lynda Carter is slated to join a special United Nations ceremony to declare Oct. 21 as the official Wonder Woman Day. The said date will also mark the superheroine's 75th anniversary.

Carter portrayed the Amazonian princess in the "Wonder Woman" TV series that aired during the 1970s. In an interview with Closer Weekly, she recounted the letters she received from fans who revealed how much the superheroine inspired them.

Several decades after the TV series aired its final episode, Carter continue to be associated with the female hero. However, Gadot already displayed that she is fit to take over the actress' DC role when she appeared as the superheroine in the movie "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

"Wonder Woman" is expected to hit movie theaters on June 23, 2017. Watch the trailer below:
