The anticipation for "Goblin" is slowly building up, as tvN just released an exciting teaser image. The first photo stills gave fans a glimpse of character of "Train to Busan" star Gong Yoo, 34, in the upcoming fantasy drama.

On Oct. 7, Friday, tvN released photo stills of the actor wearing a sleeved loose white top, as he walked through a field, All Kpop reported. The said images are from the "Coffee Prince" actor's first day of filming, which occurred on Sept. 22 at the Gochang, North Jeolla Province, South Korea.

Gong, who landed his first lead role in SBS's "Biscuit Teacher and Star Candy," is set to play a strange and miserable goblin, Kim Shin. He looks a human bride in order to end his immortality.

With Lee Eung-Bok at the helm, "Goblin" will feature a bromance between Kim Shin and an amnesiac grim reaper, Wang Yeo (Lee Dong Wook), who possess deadly good looks. The two meet somewhere between fate and a curse and must live together, as they usher dead souls to the afterlife.

"We have been preparing to make this drama for three years," producer Yoon Ha-Rim of Hwa and Dam Pictures said in a statement obtained by Soompi. "The focus of the drama will be on goblins, which is a very common character in traditional folktales, but has not been the main topic for dramas yet."

Yoon is confident that the upcoming TV series will be another kind of drama for the viewers both at home and abroad. tvN's "The Lonely, Shining Goblin" comes from screenwriter Kim Eun Sok, who brought the mega-hit series "Descendants of the Sun" and "The Heirs."

The tvN fantasy drama also stars Kim Go-Eun as a high school senior Ji Eun-Tak, Yoo In-Ha as an alluring woman Kim Sun and BTOB's Yook Sungjae as Yoo Duk-Hwa, a rebellious chaebol heir. It will also feature several cameo appearances that include Kim Min-Jae as young King, Kim So Hyun as the young Queen and "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" actor Kwak Dong-Yeon in an unspecified role.

"Goblin" is intended to hit the airwaves on Dec. 2. Check out the news preview below for more information:
