Two male Korean actors are enlisting in the country’s military. The country’s laws require military service, ranging from 21 to 36 months for all males aged 18 to 35.

Allkpop reported that Ryeowook of Super Junior would enlist on October 11. SM Entertainment, his agency, said the celebrity would enlist at the 37th division in Choongchungbuk-do’s Jeungpyung-gun.

He would become an active duty soldier for 21 months after five weeks of training. Super Junior is the second to the last of Super Junior members to enlist.

In June 2010, the army released the schedule for members of the boy band to enlist. Kangin enlisted in 2010-2012, Heechul Leeteuk in 2011-13, Yesung in 2012-14, Shindong in 2013-15, Sungmin, Donghae, Eunhyuk and Siwon in 2014-16, and Kibum and Ryeowook in 2015-17.

The only remaining band member not yet enlisted is Kyuhyun who is scheduled in 2016-18.

On Oct. 3, while guesting on “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator,” actor and 2PM main rapper Taecyeon said he would likely be conscripted in early 2017. Taecyeon said he is determined to be an active duty soldier rather than a public service worker, Soompi reported.

To qualify as an active soldier, he had two back surgeries. Taecyeon has actually been determined by the Korean government as fit only for public service worker. He also gave up his U.S. Permanent Resident status to serve in the Korean military.

“Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki, before he got the role, finished 21 months of military service which helped him portray better the role of an army captain in the hit series.
