The Boston Celtics have been the favorite team of many trade rumors this offseason as they have been linked with many players. The latest rumors suggest that the Celtics can get DeMarcus Cousins from the Sacramento Kings by trading Jaylen Brown plus a couple of first round picks from the Brooklyn Nets.

According to Jeremiah Engelmann of ESPN Insider, the Celtics should wait for another year to make a trade since the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are above everyone else. However, he pointed out that if Cousins does not work well with his new head coach, expect Danny Ainge to swoop in.

The Celtics should probably wait another year before making big moves. On the other hand, if a star becomes disgruntled and demands a trade, I think Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins are strong candidates here , the Celtics might want to pull the trigger," Engelmann noted.

On the other hand, Amin Elhassan, also of ESPN Insider, countered by saying that Jimmy Butler would be a much plausible trade target for the Celtics. He mentioned that the Bulls are close to a rebuild especially if Butler, Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo do not work out.

Elhassan added that a package of Avery Bradley, Amir Johnson, the 2017 Brooklyn Nets first-rounder and another first-rounder could convince Chicago to part ways with Jimmy Buckets. It is a good deal for both squads but Cousins is a much a better player than Butler.

In a recent piece by FOX Sports, Brown, who is the third overall pick in this year's draft, is one of the potential players that will be traded this season. The report noted that the California product can be a special player but he is also one of the team's best assets to get a third superstar.

That third superstar can be Cousins, who is considered as one of the best centers in the NBA. However, he has not made it in the playoffs since being drafted by the Kings in 2010. He is set to become a free agent in the summer of 2018 and the Kings are smart to trade him than lose him for nothing.

A possible deal that can bring Cousins to Boston is a combination of Jaylen Brown, Avery Bradley or Marcus Smart, Amir Johnson and the two first-round picks from the Nets. The two potential first-overall picks might be too much but the Celtics cannot wait for rookies to develop into superstars.

Nevertheless, these are just purely speculative at this point and should be taken with a grain of salt. Check out the video below for Cousins Top 10 Plays last season.
