The cast members of "Class" are also introduced in the trailer, including Greg Austin, Sophie Hopkins, Fady Elsayed and Vivian Oparah. To welcome the youngsters into the "Doctor Who" universe, Capaldi will appear as The Doctor in the premiere episode of "Class." As reported by Den of Geek, Capaldi shared some details about who "Class" will relate to the larger expanse of the "Doctor Who" franchise.

"It always kind of interested me as a kid what went on when the show wasn't on, you know? When the show had its hiatus, where was The Doctor then? What was he getting up to? Because I'm sure the season was not just a recounting what happened during the hiatus," Capaldi reasoned, stating that something happened to The Doctor during that period.

He added, "So, in a way, 'Class' gets into some of that, into what's going on when he's not doing the regular show. But then they go off and do their own thing, which is very exciting."

Capaldi's participation in "Class" is precedence for past Doctors to make an appearance as well. However, showrunner Patrick Ness said there won't be a lot of cameos on the show.

"I think cameo appearances are like penises," Ness said at NYCC, as quoted by CBR. "If you put it in the scene it's all people are going to look at. So you have to have it there for a really, really good reason... I don't want anything to take away from the story."

"Class" will center on six students at the fictional Coal Hill Academy. Aside from confronting the horrors the surround time travel, the characters also face every day struggles relatable to the teenage demographic such as school, parents, friends, work and sex.

"Class" is set to premiere on Oct. 22 on BBC Three.
