Did Luke Cage just find himself in a steamy love triangle? Actually, make that a rather complicated web. Netflix just recently premiered "Luke Cage" and the show has unearthed new aspects of the Marvel Television Universe. Although Marvel shows have crossed paths yet, except "Luke Cage" and "Jessica Jones," they now have one common denominator that binds them together.

Rosario Dawson reprised her role as Claire Temple in "Luke Cage." The character made her on screen debut in "Daredevil" and later appeared in "Jessica Jones." In "Luke Cage," things take an interesting turn as she plays the new love interest to the unbreakable hero.

Looking at the comic books, a Claire and Luke hook up is expected considering she was an early love interest for the hero in the 1970s. As for Jessica and Luke's story in the comics, they actually end up together and even have a baby girl named Danielle Cage, Movie Pilot reported.

But the comic books and the TV series are two different mediums, and not every parcel of the source material has been carried over to television. What's true, however, is that Jessica and Luke's relationship didn't start out as lovey dovey immediately. It was a tough road, and maybe in the TV, the couple will reach their happily ever after someway somehow.

"It's one of those things where it's a slow development. I think when people look at something like this and they talk about art imitating life, you're in real time," Mike Colter told Harper's Bazaar about how Luke's new relationship with Claire might affect his relationship with Jessica.

He added that "Luke Cage" takes place five years after the events of "Jessica Jones," meaning they're not together anymore and he's searching for new love. He also teased that Claire may or may not be a "rebound relationship."

"I haven't seen her [Jessica] again. I don't know what those feelings are gonna be when I see her again," he said.

In the meantime, "Luke Cage" is now available for streaming on Netflix. "Jessica Jones" Season 2 is expected to return in 2017.
