SHINee's Minho graced the cover of Star1 Korea's November issue. In the accompanying interview, the 24-year-old Kpop idol has opened up about his close bond with "Hwarang: The Beginning" co-stars that include Park Seo-Joon, Go Ara, and Park Hyung-Sik.

"I never thought that I'll become this close with the actors that I work with," Minho told Star1 Korea, as cited by Soompi. "Even though we finished filming, we've already met up a few times and eaten and hung out together."

The singer-turned-actor stated that it is hard to meet and became close with actors around the same age as him. Minho added he was able to have a ton of fun filming the upcoming period drama as the entire cast and crew members gradually became comfortable with one another.

"Hwarang: The Beginning" depicts the story of an elite group of young and privileged warriors, called Hwarang (Flower Knights), who grows through passion and love during their stay in the Kingdom of Silla. It is directed by Yun Seong-Sik based on the script penned by Park Eun-Young.

In the upcoming period drama, the SHINee member will play a hot-blooded and courageous warrior, Soo-Ho, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He has an aura a playboy, but is actually a pure-hearted man who is loyal to one woman.

"Hwarang: The Beginning" successfully wrapped up its six months of filming on Sept. 1. The content of the KBS 2TV drama will reportedly be edited for the entirety of October and will eventually be reviewed in China afterwards.

It is important to note that "Hwarang: The Beginning" will simultaneously broadcast in mainland China despite the rising political strain between the two countries over the deployment the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile. It will take over KBS's Monday-Tuesday 10:00 PM (KST) timeslot beginning Dec. 19.

"We plan on going to China this month to discuss broadcasting," a source from KBS 2TV's "Hwarang: The Beginning" told local newsoutlet TV Report. "The drama will air in December as planned. We are looking at Dec. 19 as the tentative date for the premiere."
