The Jet Black version of Apple's iPhone 7 Plus is now available at most United States Apple retail stores. The reason for shortage of stock was also revealed.

According to Mac Rumors, the spot check by iStockNow reveals that the popular model is now available at most Apple's retail locations in the US. Since its launching a month ago, it has been difficult for Apple fans to purchase this model.

The Jet Black models are currently in stock at several Apple Stores in several states, which includes major cities like Chicago, Houston, Miami, Los Angeles, San Diego, and many more. Current stocks of the models will vary, which is based on the carrier, the color, and its storage facility.

The application known as iStockNow uses Google Maps to make a display of the real-time status of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus availability. It will display all the Apple Stores in the US and other countries and it will be based on Apple's reservation system backend. To make an online reservation or calling the consumer's local store is still the best option to acquire the most sought phone model.

The application will show Apple retail stores with the Jet Black phone model with a green marker when users search for it. When they click on one specific marker, it will display a window with an expanded model-by-model breakdown of availability. It will also display the time that the stock was last updated at that specific location.

The Jet Black iPhone models had a shortage of stock recently due to the difficulty of manufacturing the new high-gloss finish. These new models suffer from a low casing production yield rate of 60 to 70 percent. This meant that 30 to 40 percent of those units do not pass the quality standards of Apple and must be reworked.

Writer Yoni Heisler wrote on BGR that it was interesting that the 128 GB storage option appears to be in shorter supply than the 256 GB model. Apple will do all they can to ensure the sufficient supply of all various iPhone 7 and 7 Plus version, since the holiday season is coming up soon.
