Roger Federer has claimed he is slowly approaching 100 percent of his form a few months after suffering a season-ending injury.

Federer is confident he is slowly regaining his full health months after re-injuring his surgically-repaired left knee at Wimbledon. The Swiss Maestro, who decided to skip the remainder of the season to extend his career, assured he will be at 100 percent once he returns to the Tour next year.

"[I'm] feeling very well at the moment, training sessions are going well. I am approaching 100% slowly but I will surely do it," Federer said, reports Tennis World USA.

Federer is set to return at the Hopman Cup in January next year, before heading competing at the Australian Open, where he could record his 18th consecutive appearance at the event. The Basel native has always been positive about his impending comeback, insisting that he is on track to return "fit, super, strong and healthy."

"My team tells me I'm on schedule and the promise of getting back on court and competing again is very exciting," Federer said, reports the Herald Sun.

"I've missed it so much. My motivation and love of the sport is as strong as ever and I'm really looking forward to heading down under to see all my Australian fans."

Meanwhile, Nadal still has a chance to win another major title, according to fellow Spaniard Carlos Moya.

Nadal has yet to add another major to his record 14 Grand Slam singles titles since winning the French Open in 2014 mostly because of injuries and setbacks that plagued the Mallorcan in the past few seasons, but Moya, who serves as coach to Canada's Milos Raonic, believes Nadal could still win in major events.

"Rafa's only 30. Other players are playing their best tennis at 34, 35 years old, so why not Rafa?" Moya told the ATP Champions Tour website. 'He's physically struggling a with injuries, but he's a great fighter. He will be back on track as soon as he wins a few titles. I'm sure he'll have the chance to win more Majors."

Nadal has showed glimpses of his old lethal form during the European clay circuit, earning him back-to-back titles in Barcelona and Monte Carlo. But a left wrist injury derailed his momentum to winning his 10th French Open, leading him back to struggling to play at a high level.

Nadal will have a chance to qualify for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals next month if he could keep his spot in the top eight of the Race to London rankings. However, the 30-year-old Spaniard, who continues to slip down the ATP world rankings, has expressed uncertainty over playing the remainder schedule in his calendar following a disappointing second round loss in Shanghai.

"For me the season is almost over, and I accept that. I cannot say now what I gonna do during the next month. I'm not sure nor about my calendar and nor about the things that I need to do to try to be at 100% ready for the next year," Nadal said, reports Tennis World USA.

"Sometimes the solution is to practice and stop and have a process of training. And maybe that's an opportunity to do it. I need to speak with my team. I need to speak with my uncle, too."

It remains to be seen whether Nadal would also consider skipping the remainder of the season, but the Spaniard is still scheduled to play at the Swiss Indoors in Basel before competing at the BNP Paribas Open in Paris against the likes of Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic.
