"Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" recently capped off its 18-episode run with record high TV ratings. Meanwhile, Park Bo Gum's loyal fans celebrated the KBS drama's end with a generous act of kindness.


The KBS historical series "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" closed its final chapter with an ending that made many fans happy. Park's drama even posted impressive TV ratings that surpassed its previous record of 21 percent.

Aired several weeks prior to the drama's finale week, episode 9 of Park's historical series held the record for the drama's highest rating. At a peak of 21.3 percent, the said episode's milestone was recently broken when the KBS series' final two episodes reached viewership ratings of more than 22 percent.

Released on Oct. 17, Monday, episode 17 registered a nationwide viewership share of 23.3 percent, according to Nielsen Korea. The said TV rating marked the highest level that the drama attained during its nearly two-month run.

The KBS series finale episode that aired on Oct. 18, Tuesday, also broke though the 22 percent level with a TV rating of 22.9 percent. Across the Seoul metropolitan area, episodes 17 and 18 posted viewership shares of 23.6 percent and 22.5 percent, respectively.

"Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" marked its drama broadcast with steady TV ratings, a representation of its popularity among viewers. The KBS drama broke through the 10 percent rating mark with its third episode that reached 16 percent. Meanwhile, episode 7 marked the first time that it surpassed the 20 percent rating level with a viewership rating of 20.4 percent.

Cast membersPark and Kim Yoo Jung also became two of the hottest South Korean celebrities given their participation in the KBS drama. Recently, the actor's fans even made a generous donation to two charitable organizations as their way of celebrating the drama's successful run.

The "Reply 1988" star's fanclub Bogum Ilbo made a $1,000 donation under Park's name to the "Forest for Victims of Military Sexual Slavery by Japan" campaign, as well as the "Light of Hope" project, according to Yonhap News. The first campaign aims to plant a memorial forest for former victims of sexual slavery during World War 2, while the second provides medical assistance to children needing cataract operations.
