Rumors are rife that K-pop group WINNER member Nam Tae Hyun, 35, and Korean-Australian actress Jung Ryeo Won, 22, are dating each other and have been in a relationship for about a year now. However, their agencies have a different story to tell.
Nam and Jung reportedly have been seeing each other ever since they were introduced by a mutual friend at a party in 2015. Rumors claim that they have met each other publicly on several occassions and were recently spotted enjoying a romantic date at a café in Seoul.
The date took place days before it was announced that Nam would be taking a break from his career in order to focus on his health. The singer is currently undergoing treatment for mental health issues.
The pair's 13-year age difference has added to the shock and surprise of fans amid all the dating rumors. This is not the first time the two have been romantically linked. Nam and Jung's relationship previously became a subject of speculation in February but the dating rumors were denied at the time.
Jung's label has now issued an official statement to shut down the reports and deny a romantic relationship with Nam. The reports about dating Nam are "completely false," Soompi quoted the agency as saying.
YG Entertainment, the agency that manages Nam's boy band WINNER, refused to comment on the recent reports. In a statement obtained by AllKPop, the label said, "There's nothing much we can say about Nam Tae Hyun and Jung Ryeo Won's dating rumors."
Aside from Nam, Jung was also romantically linked with "A Violent Prosecutor" actor Kang Dong-won. However, those rumors were dismissed after Kang's agency categprically denied any romantic involvement with the actress and threatened legal action against those responsible for spreading false rumors.
