The upcoming 6th instalment of "Grand Theft Auto" is currently struggling in its production due to financial constraints by the new feature that should be found in the video game franchise - the VR or AR support. Now, because of this, the game is rumored to a 2020 launch prior to earlier 2018 release.

Because of the initial success garnered by "GTA 5," raking up a massive profit of $800 million in just 24 hours of its release, its developer Rockstar made big investments onto the game's successor to place a newer technology into its software, which is planned to be a VR-ready game.

Considering the fact that VR technology is already experiencing a boom with mainstream VR devices such as the Oculus Rift and the Google Daydream View, the idea of a "GTA 6" game having some compatibility with virtual reality is a plausible one.

According to Neurogadget, if Rockstar would put the VR support into the "GTA 6's" functions, the company could be looking at a budget of up to $300 million for the game alone. This new technology rumor could be highly plausible with "GTA 5," earning billion dollars since its release.

However, rumors are claiming that the lack of "Grand Theft Auto 6" update could spur from the multi-million budget for the much-awaited game, which could push back its traditional five-year release from 2018 to 2020.

Considering the timeline for the release date of its games, Rockstar usually follow a 5-year release cycle for its "Grand Theft Auto" franchise, based on a website dedicated for "GTA 6" updates and news. Because of this, the game is seeing a delay of two years on its release.

Though there is no official announcement of the release date, Rockstar has given a hint for "GTA 6." President of Rockstar North Leslie Benzies said in a press conference that "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do." Although the "GTA 6" release date is surrounded by rumors because of the game's massive budget, the fact is that "GTA 6" release date is not announced.

GTA fans and players should wait until Rockstar reveal this information later into the development of "GTA 6," and players should expect new detailed reports about the production of its new technology and sales of the game.
