After the mind-boggling twist, "American Horror Story: Roanoke" is bringing back two familiar faces. Recently, showrunner Ryan Murphy offered more details on what exactly the half of the Season 6 will be about.
The sixth episode of "American Horror Story: Roanoke" left fans breathless after Sidney Aaron James (Cheyenne Jackson), the network executive who produced the hit television show "My Roanoke Nightmare," pitched a sequel called "Return to Roanoke: Three Days in Hell." There, the reenactors and the real world counterparts are brought together under the roof of the Roanoke house during the blood moon.
As the "Return to Roanoke: Three Days in Hell" commenced, the participants experienced the true horrors of the house. It was revealed that one of the members, Rory Monahan (Evan Peters), was killed by the two nurses and that the series never made it to air.
"It's a radical twist, a completely new form of storytelling," Murphy told E! News. "Things that you thought to be true about people are revealed to not be true."
Murphy added that the big twist of the sixth episode of "American Horror Story: Roanoke" takes viewers into a complete another world. He revealed that Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates will now assume different pivotal roles.
The series will also see the return of Taissa Farmiga and Finn Wittrock. The two previously appeared in "American Horror Story: Coven" and "American Horror Story: Freak Show," respectively.
Not much is known about Farmiga and Wittrock's character aside from the fact that the latter will portray one of the craziest roles in "American Horror Story: Roanoke." Murphy stated, "Finn Wittrock is coming back soon, playing his most fucked-up character of all time."
It can be recalled that details about the "American Horror Story: Roanoke's" plot and cast were kept secret until the first episode aired. What is known is that it will be rougher and darker, in contrast to its previous seasons.
"We're playing with a different form, so it's not like any 'Horror' season you've ever seen," Murphy told Gold Derby at the 2016 Creative Arts Emmy Awards. "It's very, very radically different - the narrative structure of what we're doing."
