Nam Ji Hyun and Seo In Guk dished out some interesting details from the set of their rom-com drama "Shopping King Louie" during a press conference on Oct. 21, Friday. The stars of the MBC show revealed that a recent lip-locking scene took several hours to film.
"I only thought that I would like for it to come out prettily," AllKPop quoted Nam as saying when asked about how she felt about the intense kissing scene. He also revealed that it took them around five hours to film that particular scenes as she and Seo took their time to ensure that the outcome was perfect.
Since Nam did not have a lot of experience doing kissing scenes, she was slightly apprehensive about what to do. However, she was confortable thanks to her co-star, who also had something to say about the intimate scene.
"Kiss scenes are one of the flowers of a drama," Soompi quoted the actor as saying. "For the kiss scene to be beautiful, there has to have been a backstory between the characters."
The actor shared that the kissing scene came out so well because of the beautiful bond and chemistry shared between his and Nam's character in the story leading up to the moment. Seo also noted that he does not believe in preparing for a lip-locking scene because a kiss scene differs from the overall plot and what viewers see is the love story behind the kiss.
Seo further added that when filming a kissing scene, he would prefer that he and his co-star immerse themselves in the moment as opposed to going for a calculated approach. "Shopping King Louie" airs every Wednesday and Thursday on MBC at 10 p.m. KST.
