The poster notes "A step ahead," however, that does not really explain anything. In addition, Huawei threw its fans in for a loop with a car-silhouette taking up the center of the poster. It is rumored that this could be some indication of CPU speed as the Mate 9 is said to feature the company's newest Kirin 960 CPU or some kind of new integration with cars.

The Mate family devices boast big screen offering at a good price, and often with killer battery life. Users assume that the Mate could be their best big screen buddy as Samsung's Note falters, Pocket Lint reported.

Huawei is believed to be offering two versions of the Mate family, a dual-edge curved Mate 9 Pro and a standard Mate 9, like the Galaxy S7 edge and the ill-fated Note 7. The Mate 9 is reported to be similar to the Mate 8 that was released back in late 2015, with a sharper design and upgraded specifications.

Alleged press images of the Mate 9 were posted on Twitter showing that the gadget willl feature a dual-lens Leica Summarit H 1:2.2/27 ASPH camera. The gadget will also come with a fingerprint scanner on the rear of the handset and a USB-C port.

On the other hand, the Mate 9 is likely to take on Samsung's Galaxy S7 Edge plus the market left open by the Note 7. Huawei, headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong, will release an upgraded version of the Mate 9 gadget under the "Pro" moniker. According to BGR, the Mate 9 Pro, dubbed Long Island within Huawei, features a dual-edge curved 5.9-inch display and step up to a 1440x2560 quad HD resolution from the Mate 9's standard 1080 full-HD resolution.

The upcoming new Huawei Mate 9 Pro with 256GB of storage is said to retail at a whopping $1,300.He also took to Twitter to reveal what seems like official images showing off the flat and curved display option

The Mate 9 comes at a crucial time for Huawei and it has a chance to pick up the millions of customers left turning in their Galaxy Note 7s in fear they could explode amidst a global recall. The Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro launch event is slated for Nov. 3.
