One of the familiar characters that players will meet early in the game is Edgar from "Final Fantasy VI." The twin protagonists of the game first meet with this character, but they already doubt which side he is on. He is the King of Figaro and a hopeless ladies' man.

Another familiar character is Cloud from the popular "Final Fantasy VII." He is a warrior with spiky hair and uses a huge buster sword to cut his opponents in half. He helps the people from the Library of the Ancients when enemies attack it.

Aside from the familiar characters that players can summon to battle to fight for them, they can also summon special creatures with special abilities. These Summons are called Mirages, which will be familiar to many fans of the franchise. These creatures are based from the many epic monsters and summons from the game franchise.

The Mirages are essential supporting characters for the players, since it will give the twins special abilities to fight off their enemies. Some of the familiar monsters that they can capture, and control are Cactuar, Mandragora, Moogle, Chocobo, Ifrit, Fenrir, Odin, Ultima Weapon, and many more. These creatures are all scattered in "World of Final Fantasy" and it is their job to capture and bond with them.

According to PlayStation LifeStyle, the twin protagonists Reynn and Lann discover that they are Mirage Keepers. They have a unique ability to capture and bond with the Mirages that they get during their travels. The twins can use prismariums to capture the creatures and keep them in their pockets until another battle comes up.

One twin can only hold a few Mirages, which means they will have to be swapped out and the others stored in Selfie's Prism Case. The Mirages can be swapped out as much as they like, but they can only bring a few in battles, so it is important that they should plan ahead.

The Mirages can also transfigure, which means they can evolve into a stronger Mirage, but not all of them can do this. The evolution feature is also completely optional, so those who want to keep a cute Cactuar, but with stronger stats can do so.

When the twins go into battle, they will bring set stacks of Mirages with them. Those in the stacks can only participate, even if one of the twins has a Mirage in their pockets.

If the twins are in Jiant forms or their big forms, they can stack medium and small Mirages on their heads. In their Lilikin or chibi forms, they can stack large Mirages and one small Mirage on their heads. The stats of the twins will not change no matter what form they take, but the Mirages they can use will change and it will also depend on their abilities.
