Contending squad ACF Fiorentina (4-2-4, 16 points) is taking on rising team UC Sampdoria (4-5-2, 14 points) at the Artemio Franchi Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 6 as the 2016-2017 Serie A season moves forward.

Fiorentina is protecting a four-game undefeated streak as they face Sampdoria at their home field this weekend. The team is unbeaten in eight of their last nine games, but most of them are drawn matches so they settle at the seventh spot of the league table.
Viola nipped lowly team Bologna, 1-0, last Saturday on the road at the Renato Dall'Ara Stadium for their second win in the last three rounds, as per Goal.
Croatian striker Nikola Kalinic scored the only goal for head coach Paulo Sousa's side in the 31st minute of the match as he converted a penalty kick off a Daniele Gastaldello red card.
Gastaldello fouled Kalinic inside the penalty area two minutes earlier and the referee decided to send the Rossoblu defender off the pitch while awarding the spot kick to the visitors.
The goal was enough to be the winning goal as Fiorentina failed to take advantage of the 10-man hosts.
Meanwhile, Sampdoria pulled off a 1-0 upset over reeling contenders Inter Milan at their home ground of Luigi Ferraris Stadium last Sunday, ESPN reported.
Italian striker Fabio Quagliarella netted the lone goal of the match one minute before the halftime break with a left-footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom right corner. The assist came from Polish midfielder Karol Linetty.
The win allowed La Samp to get tied on points with Inter in the overall standings, although the team has the lower goal difference so they drop to the 14th place with I Nerazzurri landing at 12th. In between the two sides is Udinese who also has 14 points after 11 rounds.
