HTC manufacturers are releasing another flagship phone in 2017 as a successor for its HTC 10, which failed to deliver astounding performance in the tech market. The Taiwanese consumer electronics company is said to be in the polishing stage of its development of the upcoming device, tagged as HTC 11, that will carry impressive specs at par with Samsung Galaxy phones.

According to GameNGuide, the upcoming HTC 11 will sport a 5.5-inch screen with a display resolution of 2560 x 1440. The handset could also use a dual edged screen display similar to the Galaxy Edge smartphones from Samsung based on rumors. It could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor next year and 6GB of RAM for seamless multitasking.

With the year 2016 being tagged as the year of the Virtual Reality (VR), HTC is expected to follow that same direction as its device could also support virtual reality with a VR headset and wireless headphones at follow.

Another feature added into the HTC 11's chassis is its water-proof capabilities. Recently, latest trailer reveal that the HTC 11 could be a buttonless smartphone with waterproof aluminum case and dual-stereo speakers.

YIBADA reported that HTC 11 is also equipped with dual setup camera in 12MP and 8MP for the rear while the front carries an 8MP wide-angle snapper. The new HTC 11 will no longer have the microUSB connecter as the company will replace it with the latest USB Type-C port to promote faster data speeds and charging.

Few other features announced include DualBand technology and NFC. In addition, the next-generation handset will be packed with connectivity options including Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities to DualBand, Direct and GPS with assisted GPS. It should carry BDS, Beidou, GLONASS, Infrared, Bluetooth v4.3 and NFC support.

Industry observers believe that HTC makers will release the rumored HTC 11 sometime next year as HTC 10 has just been released in May 2016. Reports suggest that the flagship phone's official price tag should hover at about $900 in the tech market.

HTC is expected to face some tough competitions as Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge as well as the new LG V20 that are currently doing well in the market.
