Despite the fact that "Scandal" Season 6 will return in 2017, fans of the ABC drama had already witnessed a piece of suspense when a short 10-second clip was released by the network. The actual official trailer will be released on Nov. 3, Thursday.

"Scandal" Season 6 teaser revealed no dialogues between the characters, but it showed significant revelations about what viewers could expect with Olivia Pope's (Kerry Washington) gladiators, and where the season is heading.

Washington also shared the teaser on her official Twitter account, showing President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn), who is looking so tensed. He is also seen consoling Olivia as she leaned her face into the his chest, indicating that the new season is filled with more drama than ever before, TV Guide reported.

The trailer of "Scandal" Season 6 also showed a big explosion as Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and Quinn Perkins (Katie Lowes) are approaching the building. It is a big puzzle why there is an explosion and who is inside the building.

There is a possibility that Olivia and Fitzgerald will reunite in "Scandal" Season 6. It will be different this time because the latter will no longer be the president of the United States.

Scott Foley, who plays Jake Ballard, said that there is a high probability that Olivia and Fitzgerald's romance will be over. Although noone still knows what is going to happen, Fitzgerald already knew that Olivia aborted their baby.

"I think so, and maybe things will change," Foley told Variety about the relationship of Olivia and Fitzgerald in "Scandal" Season 6. "But personally, I would like to see Olivia on her own for a bit. Just making choices that make her happy, regardless of the men in her life."

The new season will also witness a strange relationship between Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) and Jake now that they are running-mates for the election. Although Fitzgerald has no qualms about Millie working with Jake, the problem is that Jake will be closer to Olivia.

"Scandal" Season 6 will pick up on the election time, where Mellie or Francisco Vargas (Ricardo Chavira) will take over Fitzgerald as the next president of the U.S. Viewers also have to wait what would possibly happen with Fitzgerald after he leaves his post.

The explosive new season of the ABC drama will return on Jan.19, 2017, at 9/8c. Check out what Goldwyn has to say about Season 6:
