The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2016 is promising to be an exciting affair where a few dramatic moments happened ahead of the event. Recently, Cara Delevingne fired back against body critics who claimed she was unfit for the fashion show, while Bella Hadid revealed her sexy look for the event.
The first week of November turned out to be a stressful period for the model and actress Delevingne. The "Suicide Squad" star was forced to defend herself against a published article that stated she was "too bloated" during an earlier Victoria's Secret casting activity.
The British newspaper The Sun, as cited by E!News, released a report claiming that Delevingne failed to join the brand's 2014 London runway show due to her body's "bloated" condition. The British celebrity was in several Victoria Secret's fashion shows in 2012 and 2013, however, work commitments prevented her from participating in the 2014 Victoria's Secret event.
Delevingne's non-appearance was explained by the brand's Chief Marketing Officer Edward Razek. The model posted a snapshot of Razek's letter on Instagram that stated how organizers tried to get the British star to join the said runway show. The alleged casting activity also never happened, according to the executive.
Apart from clarifying the issue, Razek also extended an invitation for the “Paper Towns” star to join the brand’s upcoming Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2016 in Paris. However, it is still unclear if Delevingne will participate in the said event.
In other news, Hadid will be one of the 51 models who will grace the runway of the brand’s upcoming Paris show. In an interview with People, Hadid gushed over her runway looks which will consist of two different fashion ensembles.
The first look features a navy blue bra and panty set with silver floral accents. Part of the brand’s Dark Angel collection, Hadid will wear wings and a see-through sequined long-sleeved top to complete the look.
Meanwhile, Hadid’s second Victoria’s Secret runway look includes a gray corset and bra matched with a “cool” sleeved top and a long train. The said look has a dramatic flair given the long train and corset, according to the model.
The Victoria Secret’s Fashion Show 2016 will air on Dec. 5, Monday on CBS. Watch the trailer clip below:
