The New Orleans Pelicans are off to a bad start and it frustrates their superstar big man Anthony Davis. It has led to many trade rumors with one particular one stating that the Pelicans could trade Davis to the New York Knicks in exchange for Kristaps Porzingis.

Davis is currently having the best season of his young career as he averages 30.0 points, 11.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.5 steals and 3.2 blocks per game. However, the Pelicans are 0-6 and it starts to frustrate the 23-year-old superstar.

Several reports indicate that Davis would want out of New Orleans sooner than later if the Pelicans continue their awful start. Head coach Alvin Gentry is already on the hot seat but it should be noted that the team is depleted with Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans is out for the first several weeks of the season.

Nevertheless, it has sparked a lot of trade rumors for the past couple of weeks with one particular scenario involving the Knicks. According to Adrian Lawhorn of The Inquisitr, Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek is unhappy with Porzingis and it might force a trade to New Orleans this season.

However, these are just purely speculative at the moment since it is just the start of the season. The Pelicans do not have two of their best players while the Knicks are still adjusting to Hornacek's offense, especially with several new players on the team.

According to the ESPN Trade Machine, the Davis for Porzingis and Rose trade works but it would take more than those two players to convince New Orleans to part ways with their All-Star big man. He is a generational talent who could be the best player in the world in the next couple of years.

Two more first round picks from the Knicks might do the trick but it is a risky move for both teams. Porzingis has all the potential in the world but what if it does not pan out in New Orleans? Rose will be a free agent at the end of the season and he might not want to play with the Pelicans long term.

As for New York, they will get a new franchise player but Davis' risk is his health. He has not played in a full 82-game season in his career with the highest being 68 games two years ago. Nonetheless, expect more trade rumors to pop up in the next couple of months as the Pelicans and Knicks seasons progress.
