If reports are anything to go by, the MacBook Pro 2016 is less about performance and more about conservation of energy.

According to many reports, the lighter and thinner MacBook Pro 2016 performs the same as the MacBook Pro 2015.

This is because the MacBook Pro 2015 utilizes a 28 watt Intel fifth-generation Broadwell part, and the new entry-level MBP utilizes a 15 watt sixth-generation Skylake. The low-power Skylake offers the same performance as the power-hungry Broadwell.

In the case of the 15-inch MacBook Pro, the Cupertino-based Apple cut the GPU. Nvidia's GPUs will not fit in the MBP.

The [15-inch MBP's] AMD GPU is a 35-watt part and the Nvidia GPU is 75 watts. The new 15-inch MacBook Pro begins at $2,399 with 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7.

The device's OLED Display Touch Bar can help students since it purportedly can be completely-customizable. This means that owners can assign a particular function to a button. The new 2016 Macbook Pro is lighter and thinner than its predecessors.

Here are some of the best alternatives to the 2016 Macbook Pro.
