BTS' agency, Big Hit Entertainment, recently announced that they are planning to take legal action against individuals who spread false and malicious rumors about the seven-member boy band.

On Nov. 10, Thursday, Big Hit Entertainment released a formal statement warning online attackers that they will take strict legal action to those spreading false information and even personal attacks that obstruct BTS' character. In a press statement obtained by Soompi, the agency clarified that they decided to take on such strict response because the group has long been suffering from rumors and malignant remarks.

Since the group debuted in 2013, BTS and Big Hit Entertainment have given great effort to acknowledge each criticism and evaluations with an open mind. However, netizens' actions with malicious intents that ceaselessly exaggerate criticism and assault personal rights of BTS' production and music promotions can no longer be neglected.

"Recent information network systems and whistleblower protection laws have expedited court rulings on charges of defamation resulting in the sentencing of imprisonment and severe penalties," Big Hit Entertainment added. "In order to protect our artists' rights and interests, our company and a law firm has started the process of suing and reporting acts of creating false statements, spreading malicious posts and comments, and submitting it to the press with the intention of slander."

Furthermore, Big Hit Entertainment will apparently take strict legal action without making settlements from now on. They have also requested for submissions of evidence in regards to malicious rumors, false statements, and personal attacks.

On a lighter note, BTS' second studio album "WINGS" has once again broken another record. Released on Oct. 10, "WINGS" broke South Korean Gaon Music Chart, having sold 681, 924 albums in the month of October, MWave reported.

BTS' "WINGS" is the highest selling album on Gaon Music Chart for the year of 2016. It even recorded more than twofold the amount of sales contrasted with their previous album "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever," which only sold 310,243 copies.
