Although the Samsung company was badly hurt by the massive Samsung Galaxy Note 7 recall due to its widespread exploding battery dilemma, the Korean tech giant is not backing up with another galaxy variant lined-up for release by next year. In 2017, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will launch alongside the Galaxy S8. The S8 models are now being rumored to replace its flat screens with edge displays.

Despite rumors circulating that the Galaxy Note brand will be wiped out for Samsung to start a clean slate, the company has already planned to release the Note 8. According to reliable leaker Evan Blass, Samsung is currently making two Galaxy models slated for release next year, BGR reported.

Blass shared the tech company is skipping the SM-G94* model numbers for the Galaxy S8 models and will ship them as SM-G950 andSM-G955 instead. He added that aside from these models, SM-N950 is also in the works.

It is believed by Koreans that the number 4 brings bad luck, the reason why these numbers were skipped in the Galaxy model numbering. Meanwhile, it is believed that Samsung will still target the same potential consumers of Galaxy Note 7 by offering them a larger Galaxy Note 8.

In a separate tweet, Blass also shared Samsung may not be offering smartphones with flat screens in the near future as the upcoming Galaxy S8 models will have edge displays.

On the other hand, Samsung recently confirmed it will launch the Galaxy Note 8 with a more improved Artificial Intelligence, or virtual assistant similar to Apple's Siri, CNET reported. The company recently acquired Viv, the team behind developing Apple's Siri become smarter.
