UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes is prepped and ready for UFC 205 where she stakes her title against a returning Ronda Rousey. It will be “Rowdy’s” first fight in over a year since suffering her first and only loss to Holly Holm.

One would expect some excitement or cockiness on the part of Rousey as she returns to mixed martial arts action but that doesn’t seem to be the case as of late. When she emerged at the UFC 205 press conference, she hardly sported a smile or even acknowledged her fans cheering her on.

For Nunes, all this has been a mystery. She joins a long list of people befuddled at what is really bugging Rousey.

Things just have been the same for Rousey since her first loss last year. She took time out to fulfill his Hollywood duties though most of his film commitment hit a snag. Films like “Mile 22” and the “Road House” remake were shelved, more bad luck on the part of the former UFC women’s champion, Fox Sports reported.

For Nunes, seeing how Rousey can turn her back was something she would never do. Defeat is only normal and the right way is to take it as it is and plan to return with a vengeance. Right now, that doesn’t seem to show for “Rowdy”.

“When you learn, judo [and] jiu-jitsu, you’re [supposed to be] humble in losing, focused on getting better,” Nunes said. “I don’t know why she’s so down,” said Nunes in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

As far as the incident involving Rousey storming off stage at the UFC 205 weigh-ins, UFC president Dana White clears the air on any misinterpretation that most have. He pins the blame on the production people and further explained that Rousey was not supposed to talk at the event.

Regardless, it was a different Rousey on stage and many are taking notice. It seems obvious that she is still not mentally recovered from her UFC 193 loss to Holm and that could adversely affect her when she re-enters the Octagon this December.

Rousey did mention that her match with Nunes will be one of her last matches. At the way things are going, it could very well be her final one.
