With the Marvel Cinematic Universe building up towards a final showdown with Thanos, "Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol.2" is bound to be the film that will build up the final battle.

However, most comic book aficionados continue to lament the absence of one of the most essential characters in the Infinity Wars/Infinity Gauntlet saga: Adam Warlock.

That could change as one of the stars of the film, Karen Gillian has confirmed that they are doing reshoots. Den of Geek has the lowdown on this news, and clarifies that reshoots could mean anything.

"This can only mean one thing...that this is just another normal piece of the process for every blockbuster movie, and not something worth freaking out over," DoG stated.

If the reshoot is not a clue that leads us to Adam Warlock, then perhaps the choice of villain is. As JoBlo confirmed the rumors, the villain in the film is Ayesha Kismet, played by Elizabeth Debicki.

Why is that significant? In the comics, Ayesha Kismet is a genetically engineered being created by a group of scientists known as The Enclave. The purpose of their creation was to sort of "restart" humanity and eliminate their flaws.

Ayesha is the second being created by the Enclave. The first one was Adam Warlock. At first, Warlock was only called "Him" and Ayesha was called "Her" as they were merely creations.

Since Ayesha was designed to restart humanity, her purpose was to reproduce and sure enough, she is searching for her destined partner, Warlock. With this plotline, it is almost impossible that Warlock is not on the horizon.

In various forums, it has been speculated that Adam Warlock is the father Peter Quill (aka Star Lord played by Chris Pratt). It has already been stated that the Quill's father is Ego, the Living Planet as played by Kurt Russell.

Still, fans are not convinced that Marvel, even through director James Gunn would reveal something so essential outside the film. Thus, the speculation is that there would be a big twist somewhere that would establish a connection between Quill and Adam Warlock.
