Lily James has finally disclosed the secret of her ultra-tiny waist seen in the teasers of Cinderella. The actress has revealed that her small waistline in the movie is the result of her gifted genes and a good corset.
"I naturally have a really small waist and then the corset pulls it in and the skirt makes it bigger so I think the perspective makes it look even smaller," said the actress, ET reported. "But it's totally just my waist."
The "Cinderella" star's teeny-weeny waist has become a hot topic of discussion lately, especially after the release of the movie's teaser. James was criticized for digitally editing her silhouette so as to give the impression of a very slim waist.
The blue dress that James is seen wearing in the title role, designed by British designer Sandy Powell, has triggered many online debates after the movie's world premiere. James has that although throughout the movie, she is wearing a waist-tightening corset beneath her gowns, designer Powell has taken extra care with the blue gown so as to create the "Cinderella" silhouette.
On the other hand, a corset expert has said that James' tiny waist in the movie is unattainable and there is a definite hand of post-production editing, Inquisitr reported. Reuters has also slammed that dresses in the movie were too tight and not a "feasible choice for someone's daily article of clothing."
James has also confessed that she remained on the liquid diet while filming a major portion of the movie. "When [the corset] was on we would be on continuous days so we wouldn't stop for lunch or a lovely tea like this-you'd be sort of eating on the move," admitted the actress.
The movie is set to hit the theatres on March 13.
