'Pokemon Sun and Moon'

Nintendo Switch could be the first home console that gets a version of the new game "Pokémon Sun and Moon." The gaming giant's hybrid console will reportedly receive a title codenamed "Pokémon Stars." It will include high definition (HD) features and could have new pocket monsters for players to collect and trade.

Eurogamer reported the new Pokémon game. It shared that the franchise's developer Game Freak had been developing the "Stars" and "Sun and Moon" versions at the same time.

The game studio then focused on the 3DS versions for the official launch on November 18, Friday. Since the pair of handheld versions have launched the Japanese company will now focus on the console version before the gaming system's release set for March 2017.

"Stars" will have the same features and maps like the earlier versions but will include some possible bonuses that could use the Switch's hardware, according to The Verge. The approach is similar to games including "Pokémon Red and Blue" and "Pokémon Yellow" whose new versions also had upgrades.

The Nintendo Switch game would be the first time, however, a home console would get an updated version.

"Sun and Moon" is set in a new region named Alola that includes four large islands that are linked to each other but disjointed from the rest of the world. The goal of the game is to explore the islands. That includes tasks such as watching Pokémon do a tribal dance, searching for plants, and fighting the "totem" pocket monsters.

A "Sun and Moon" trailer in February included an image of the Pikipek woodpecker that suggested a future game with HD graphics.

The newest Pokemon games have been getting good reviews. They will probably be hit games following the success of the augmented reality (AR) game "Pokémon Go" during summer 2016. The mobile game became the most downloaded app in the App Store's history.

In related news, Let's Play Video Games reported a Super Mario game will launch with the Switch console.

The game first appeared in a reveal trailer for Switch last month. It shows the famous Nintendo character running and jumping in a desert area covered with ice blocks, according to Business Insider.
