"Singularity" will be the second project of Team Downey Productions. Their first project was "The Judge."

As per the agreement, Team Downey Productions will be covering scripted as well as unscripted content for television and digital platforms. Sonar is thrilled to partner with the teamm as well as Robert and his wife.

"We are  excited about the vision of Team Downey for developing as well as producing a wide variety of original quality content," The Wrap quoted Sonar Entertainment CEO Thomas Lesinski as saying. There is no news on whether Robert will also act in "Singularity" and not much is known about the cast and plot of the upcoming TV series at this stage.

While both Sonar and Team Downey are careful to keep the plot a closely guarded secret, the title of the TV series suggests that it may be some sort of a science fiction. "Singularity" either refers to the space-time variety or the technological stuff, Cinema Blend reported.

Recently, Team Downey Productions has been involved dark genre projects. Hence, it is expected that the new TV serial will also deal with the subject.

Earlier, the production house has been associated with TV projects like the horror drama "South of Hell" and Tom Hardy's upcoming FX drama "Taboo." Team Downey is also behind the Stephen King adaptation "Mr. Mercedes," which is currently under production.

A few months back, Robert surprised his fans when he teamed up with "True Detective" creator Nic Pizzolatto for an HBO drama, which is likely to be a TV reboot of "Perry Mason." The actor has long cherished to make this into a movie.
