Google execs Daniel Walsh and Conor O'Sullivan, who are in-charge of User Experience Design and Sound Design divisions at Google have published a blog post titled about the User Interface of Google's most recent Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.

Android Headlines cited Walsh and O'Sullivan describing the chief mission and goal behind creation of Google Pixel and the Google Pixel XL is to design and deliver a consistent user experience - one that has been very true to the Google's fundamental design philosophy and distinct from anything else Google has  created earlier. In order to achieve this, the designers of Google have chosen to confide on the latest and greatest technology launched by the Alphabet-owned Internet firm. Alongside, a special attention to wallpapers and soundscape has been assigned for Google Pixel devices.

The design team ensured that horizons displayed by the Google Pixel wallpapers are spotless in aligning with phones' back plate. The color palette fashioned specifically for these wallpapers are designed to feature both the AMOLED displays of the Google Pixel and the Google Pixel XL  to complement the formerly precogitated palette of all Google app icons.

In respect of sound design, Walsh and O'Sullivan disclosed that a lot of effort has been assigned for creating ringtones, alarms, and notification sounds that are not only engrossing but also not heavily complicated. Additionally, it was announced that designing a clean soundscape for the Google Pixel phones has become essentially important as a smartphone can barely produce a luxurious listening experience of  a home stereo system. Keeping in view of that limitation, the Google Pixel Audio Design team have decided to choose sounds that both vibrate well and also respect the relationship users bond with devices.

All aforementioned solutions are developed by the close collaboration of the Material Design team and the company's Creative Lab.
