Crotone, which was promoted to the Italian top flight this season after placing second in last season's Serie B competitions, has struggled to find wins this term. The team only has one victory to boot in the first 13 rounds of Serie A competitions but has two draws for only 5 points in the standings.

The Sharks are coming off a 0-2 loss to streaking team Torino also at their home stadium of Ezio Scida last Sunday for their second consecutive defeat, via ESPN.

Italian forward Andrea Belotti netted the two goals for Il Toro in the 80th and 89th minutes of the match after head coach Davide Nicola's side almost pushed the Maroons to a goalless draw.

Crotone midfielder Andrea Barberis almost netted a goal for his side, but it was blocked by Torino keeper Joe Hart to complete the clean sheet win.

Meanwhile, Sampdoria nipped lowly club Sassuolo, 3-2, in a high-scoring game at their home field of Luigi Ferraris Stadium also last Sunday, as per Football Italia.

After a goalless first half of action, the goals poured in after the restart.

Sassuolo actually managed to score the first two goals, courtesy of forward Federico Ricci and midfielder Antonio Ragusa in the 64th and 74th minutes, to zoom ahead to a two-point advantage with less than 20 minutes left in the match.

However, head coach Marco Giampaolo's squad pulled off a three-goal streak to overtake the visitors and snatch away the win and three points in the overall standings.

Italian striker Fabio Quagliarella trimmed the gap to 1-2 with a left-footed shot in the 84th minute which was immediately followed by a right-footer by Colombian striker Luis Muriel only a minute later.

Muriel netted his second goal of the game with a penalty kick in injury time to complete the comeback for La Samp.
