Things are heating up between Lindsay Lohan and Ariana Grande. Over the weekend, the 30-year-old "Mean Girls" star just went full Regina George on the latter.

Grande, who will star as Penny Pingleton in NBC's "Hairspray Live," posted a photo of herself and co-star Dove Cameron on Instagram on Nov. 18, Friday. Much to the ire and amusement of many, Lohan cast shade on the singer for apparently wearing too much make-up.

Not only did Lohan comment on the said Instagram post, she also left a similar remark on two other photos that the singer previously shared, as per The Huffington Post. Grande's fans then rushed to her defense with others hitting back on Lohan.

Grande, who began her career in the Broadway musical "13," bagged the Artist of The Year award at the 2016 American Music Awards. The prestigious event took place in Los Angeles, California on Nov. 20, Sunday.

"I can't believe this," she said. "I am shaking with nerves. I hope that I can bring joy to you and make you feel unified and happy."

Aside from playing Penny in NBC's "Hairspray Live!," Grande is currently busy gearing up for her "Dangerous Woman Tour," Entertainment Weekly reported. She will kick off the event on Feb. 02, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona and will continue until April 15 in Orlando, Florida.

"I'm very excited," Grande said during an interview with Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show." "I can't wait to get on the road again. There will be more dates coming, but for now, I just had to get something because of my fans - I promised them. I'm a little late."
