According to the official website of the video game, update 1.09 fixes all of the current glitches, issues, and bugs the game is currently plagued with. It fixed an issue in the Painted World of Ariandel where Sir Vilhelm would get trapped in the rocks. The update also fixed an issue where it becomes impossible for players to move on further in the game because Friede usually does not become Blackflame Friede, which was essential in progression.

The update fixed a problem in the Painted World of Ariandel where an enemy, Gravetender Greatwolf, would not spawn in battle. Another issue was fixed where a crab enemy would suddenly float in the air if led to a certain location. In the Painted World of Ariandel, a problem was fixed where the character name is not displayed when players are locked on to the Livid Pyromancer Dunnel.

The upcoming update fixed an issue where the motions did not take effect when players equip a weapon on the left hand. These were improved in update 1.08, but it seems it still had bugs. It also fixed a problem where the weight of the Curved Swords would fluctuate in Regulation 1.22.

In other "Dark Souls" related news, the first game of the series for Windows will have its online services transferred to Steam. According to the official website of From Software, the online services were transferred because the Games for Windows LIVE service was shut down recently. The game will also be re-released for purchase on Steam and the actual date for its re-release will be announced at a later date.

Players who own the game already on Games for Windows LIVE can download it again for free. They can use the product key on Steam to activate and start the download.
