New "Injustice 2" updates will feature three DC heroes and "Watchmen" characters, as well as a possible release date of the game.

It seems that released date for "Injustice 2" has been leaked online as previous reports suggest that the sequel could launch March 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One console. New evidence to support the claim have come to light as video game retailer website GameStop released their latest earnings reports and marketing plans for next year.

According to GameStop's marketing plan, "Injustice 2" could launch in the first quarter of 2017 which is roughly on January-March alongside "Mass Effect: Andromeda" and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild". It is also theorized that gamers will likely gain more interest in "Injustice 2" since Wonder Woman is included in the roster and with her solo film coming on June next year, the sequel will gain a huge boost of attention, Gamerant reported.

In other news, three new DC heroes are speculated to join the growing roster of "Injustice 2" as WhatCulture made another list of characters that should be playable to the sequel.

These characters include Aqualad (Kaldur'ahm), Red Tornado, Captain Atom, Beast Boy and Starfire. Both Beast Boy and Starfire have been hinted in previous reports showing a huge support from the fans to them in "Injustice 2".

Aqualad has been popular character in the "Young Justice" animated series as Aquaman's sidekick and leader of a team of young heroes. It will be intereting to see what Kaldur could do in the sequel given that he has the same Atlantean abilities as his mentor but will likely feature a different take on it in the game.

Captain Atom was featured in the "Injustice" comics battling Superman before his demise. Captain Atom could be a defensive fighters as his energy absorption powers will allow him to take on projectiles of his opponents.

Lastly, Red Tornado will likely be a difficult opponent in the game as his ability to create tornatdos and manipulate air, his move set will likely be focused on control of the battle-field utilizing special moves aimed more at moving his opponent around to set up for combos, or even have remote throwing capabilities making him an easy to learn but truly difficult to master character.

In addition, "Mortal Kombat" creator Ed Boon teased fans by tweeting a poll asking them if they want to see "Watchmen" characters in "Injustice 2" with 74 percent saying yes.

The Watchmen are a group of heroes in from Alan Moore's title of the same name and they exist in an alternate reality were in costume vigilantes appeared in the 1940 until they were banned in 1985. Well known characters such as Rorschach, The Comedian, Night Owl II, Sill Spectre II, Ozymendias and Dr. Manhattan are featured in the comic book series.

Doctor Manhattan has been previously hinted as one of the rumore heroes in "Injustice 2" alongside John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Captain Cold and many more. Boon also teased that Spawn and Sub-Zero could joing the game as guest characters and even a possible demo or beta version of the game soon.

The sequel's current roster includes Superman, Batman,Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Supergirl, Blue Beetle, Gorilla Grodd, Atrocitus, Harley Quinn and Deadshot.

"Injustice 2" will launch sometime in 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
