People who spend hours playing Solitaire on PCs and laptops, now can indulge their addiction if they have an iOS device such as an iPhone or iPad.

Microsoft is proud of the fact that users have invested time and effort to master Solitaire games over the years. However, the much of the appeal surrounding it was limited to laptops and desktops running operating systems created by Microsoft, but this changed over the past week when the company announced it was bringing the popular game with five modes to iOS devices. Additionally as the announcement was made, the company was quick to show that it was not ignoring Android users and they too will be able to enjoy the same games.

Importantly, the iOS and the Android versions of Solitaire are available for free on iTunes and Google Play Store respectively so users do not have to shell out money if they want to get their fix of the game. However, reveal of Solitaire for iOS and Android was made Engadget stated that users do not have to play alone which was the original point of the game. Instead they can play with friends as there is Xbox Live integrated into it.

As for this version of Solitaire it has remained mostly the same, but the game modes which are present in the iOS and Android are already grabbing attention. AppAdvice on its website referred to the game modes as "impressive" and outlined how they have been given a boost with the addition of Xbox Live integration and daily challenges that are rolled out to users.

With these new features and five game modes which include Klondike, FreeCell, Spider, Pyramid, and Tripeaks, Microsot Solitaire could extend its popularity on iOS and Android devices and beat other versions offered. Specifically it might turn out to be popular with older users, who do not have time to spend on other time consuming mobile games and instead want something that they are familiar with and can play on the go.

Solitaire will be provided free for iOS and Android for a limited period of time, but there is also a $2 priced premium edition. This premium edition importantly does not have any ads in it and users can therefore can have a hassle free experience when playing and get double the coin rewards compared to the free version.
