The controversial "No Man's Sky" will soon receive a patch update that will introduce other game play elements to the video game. Recently, Hello Games shared a few details of its upcoming "Foundation Update" for the said gaming title.

"No Man's Sky" has been receiving negative feedback from players who criticized the game over its content and other technical concerns. Aside from a few patch updates to fix post-launch glitches, Hello Games have kept silent about the issue.

However, the game developer released a statement that revealed what the team has been working on since game launch. Posted on the game's official website, Hello Games stated that it will soon deploy a "No Man's Sky" patch that will serve as the start of new things to come.

Dubbed the "Foundation Update," the said patch will add base building to "No Man's Sky." The game developer did not elaborate about the said feature but mentioned that a detailed announcement will be released soon.

Hello Games also shared that its developers have been hard at work testing the base building feature included in the upcoming "Foundation Update." The game developer added, "It won't be our biggest update, but it is the start of something."

The gaming company also addressed criticisms that it received from gamers following the launch of "No Man's Sky." Admitting to staying quiet amidst the issues, Hello Games explained that they took notice of all the feedback while adding improvements to enhance the game.

The developer stated, "Positive or negative feedback, you have been heard and that will truly help to make this a better game for everyone. This update will be the first small step in a longer journey."

At this point, it is still unsure if Hello Games will be able to live up to the gamers' expectations of what "No Man's Sky" should have been. With claims that several gaming elements teased in the advertised version were different from the actual game, some consumers even filed a complaint to U.K.'s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

An ASA representative shared in an earlier interview with Polygon that it has already launched an investigation into the misleading advertising claims. However, the results of the investigation have yet to be revealed.

"No Man's Sky" was released on Aug. 9 for PS4 and PC. Learn more about the game in the clip below:
