Donald Trump has been the subject of ridicule lately by some netizens and trollers. Just recently, some creative thinkers somehow managed to troll the upcoming United States' president by changing his residence from Trump Tower to Dump Tower.

Such incident was obviously not sanctioned by Trump or even conducted in a civil way. A search of the residence of Trump via Google Maps would display Dump Tower instead of its original name, and this ingenious idea somehow became a social media attraction as people began tweeting of the new brand identity.

In response to the incident, spokesperson from Google talked to Pix11 regarding the online troll using their map tool.

"Some inappropriate names were surfacing in Google Maps that should not be, and we apologize for any offense this may have caused. Our teams immediately took action and have fixed the issue," the Google spokesperson said.

Now the changing of Trump Tower to Dump Tower was not the last direct attack against Trump's property, for according to Digital Trends, Trump International Hotel & Tower in Columbus Circle was renamed Dump International Hotel & Tower. And this was again made via Google Maps editing feature.

The said feature was already toned-down by Google due to previous incidents of vandalism wherein an image of Google's Android mascot was depicted urinating on an Apple logo. These form of vandalisms and the likes prompted Google to "prevent, detect, and take down" illegitimate contributions.

As a part of their continuous upgrade and to mitigate vandals, the tech-giant setup an invitation-only program. By doing so, only trusted curators may be able to submit and edit map info.

"Based on these efforts, in addition to our new Local Guides program, we've decided to retire Map Maker in order to improve and expedite the Maps editing experience on both mobile and desktop," Digital Trends quoted Google spokesperson as saying.

However, despite the changes being made, it seems like there are still few talented individuals who managed to go beyond the security features of the map maker. And with these incidents involving Donald Trump and his properties, guess we would just have to wait for a response from the president-elect soon.
