Shannon recently made an appearance in a recent episode of the SBS reality series "K-Pop Star." However, it was one to forget for the solo singer, who made her debut in 2014 with the song "Daybreak Rain."

After "K-Pop Star" Season 6 was announced as the final season of the show, the format has allowed for debuted artists and trainees to participate in the auditions. In a recent episode, Shannon tried to wow the judges with her vocals as she sang "Jason's Song" by Ariana Grande.

The singer received the thumbs up from two of the judges from the panel; Yang Hyun Suk and Yoo Hee Yeol. However, her singing talent failed to impress JYP Entertainment's Park Jin Young.

"Maturity that does not fit your age is actually a weakness," AllKPop quoted Park as saying during his critique of the British-Korean singer. The judge also pointed out that in spite of knowing what her flaws are, the singer does not attempt to work on them.

Not all of Park's comments on Shannon's singing were negative. He also dished out some compliments for the 18-year-old solo artist. "I've never seen someone who sings so well at your age," he told her, before advising her not to try too hard while singing and show off because she already has a beautiful voice.

After listening to Park's constructive criticism, which basically told her to be more natural when it comes to singing, Shannon started getting emotional and teared up on stage. She later agreed with the judge's comments and expressed her thanks to the producer for his valuable feedback.

Shannon grabbed headlines in April for offending viewers with racist and homophobic comments during a 'V' app with BTL's Jay and Dani, according to AllKPop. The singer later issued an apology for her insensitive words.
