NBA rumors are pointing to the potential return of Phil Jackson to Los Angeles Lakers. And together with such speculation is the possibility of the transfer of New York Knicks center-player Kristaps Porzingis from Madison Square Garden to the Staples Center Arena.

With the current team standing and the recent performance of the Knicks over the past years, questions regarding the leadership of the team have been raised by some fans and critics. Since the time Phil Jackson joined the team, there have been drastic changes and yet no monumental output. It can be remembered that during the start of Jackson with the Knicks, the team finished with a 17-65 record, the worst in the franchise history.

Now after almost more than two years of taking over the Knicks, there are now rumors that Jackson will soon leave the Big Apple and returning to the Los Angeles. According to ESPN, Jackson's time in the Knicks may be "close to finished." And such may be viable with the opt-clause stipulated in his contract.

Now if the NBA rumors regarding the return of Jackson to the Lakers are true, then there would also be a great possibility that Jackson would likely take a player with him as he is known to hand-pick players for his team, like what he just did before with the Chicago Bulls, LA Lakers, and in the Knicks when he previously "hand-picked" free agents Robin Lopez, Arron Afflalo, Derrick Williams and Kyle O'Quinn back in 2015, according to NewsDay.

As means of speculation, there would likely be a great chance that Jackson will try to lure Kristaps Porzingis to Lakers as he was instrumental to the acquisition of the Latvian player after some teams, including the LA Lakers, passed on him during the 2015 NBA draft.

With the current team standing of both teams and the lack of a substantial center-player of Lakers, then it would likely be possible for Jackson to take with him or lure Porzingis to L.A.. But still, in order for such NBA trade rumor to happen, it would need first for Jackson to go back to Lakers. Guess we would just have to wait and see how these NBA rumors will unfold this NBA season.
