Kobe Bryant and the UCLA basketball would be a perfect match for each other like a perfect marriage. Reports about this union emerge while UCLA basketball is back on the path of mediocrity.

UCLA was once the best basketball program in the United States, despite it not being one of the best college hoops program in the Southern part of California. Such honor belongs to the San Diego State University.

UCLA's best recruits did not achieve much or they leave early and do much better at the National Basketball Association (NBA) compared to their performance in Westwood. One time UCLA was able to land to the best of the best in skills anywhere in the country, UCLA is often out-recruited right in their own backyard by Oregon and Arizona, according to LA Post Examiner.

This has got to eat away at the wealthy boosters who wanted to see more national title banners hanging at the Pauley Pavilion.

Kobe Bryant coaching the Bruins in a year or two is a huge question but a fact that needs be faced.  Dan Guerrero's contract and offensive buyouts would mean that Bruins are stuck with Alford for another year or two due to financial issues. However, if the outcome does not improve soon, the thought of having a three time NBA star without any experience of coaching a college team handle UCLA has crossed the minds of the management.

Bryant has never coached a college basketball team, and UCLA needs change. Guerrero would decide if he would consider the thought, to Bryant's defense, he got some selling points too.

However, Westwood is considered a place for good coaches to show his trade and not a place for a beginner coach to learn the trade, Bruins Nation reported.
