Lionsgate has slowly been teasing the upcoming "Power Rangers" film, releasing the new design for Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks) and the titular Rangers slowly. The studio has now released concept art for Alpha 5, showcasing how far the movie is going to utilize the alien designs for its characters.

The photo was first reported on IGN before the "Power Rangers" Facebook page posted it a few hours later. Just like the original design from the television series, this Alpha 5 has a saucer-shaped head, a robotic body and a red, blue and silver color motif.

However, this new version also sports a smaller body design, longer arms and a thin frame. Alpha 5 also now has a large abdomen and two protruding eyes circling the head. Further implying the alien technologies used on the body are the strange toes and fingers.

Gone is the large, yellow lightning on Alpha 5's chest and in its place are electric currents running throughout the robot's entire body. The design of the character's limbs, with their blue energy, resembles the chest pieces found in the Rangers' suits.

While the design is different from the original it is consistent with the redesign for the Rangers and for Rita Repulsa, reported Screen Rant.

Even the MegaZord appears to be following this sleek and alien-like design, based on the way the tie-in toys look like.

Bill Hader, known for his work on "Saturday Night Live," will be voicing the character. This will not be Hader's first foray into voicing a mechanical character as he did provide the voice of BB-8 in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

Goldar, Rita Repulsa's henchman, as well as the Rangers' mentor Zordon (Bryan Cranston) have yet to be revealed. The former was portrayed as a humanoid lion monster in gold armor while the latter was often portrayed as a floating head in an alien tube. It is uncertain how faithful their new designs will be to the original series.

The report does state that Zordon's appearance is likely going to be the next big reveal. This design could be showcased in another concept art photo or Zordon could be featured in the next full-length trailer.
