Motorola as a brand tried to revive its former glory by introducing various product lines, including smartwatches. However, despite the effort and hype for the said wearables, it seems like consumers are too busy noticing other leading brands like Samsung and Apple. As a result of such lack of great interest by the populace, expectations were not met leading for Moto to retreat and think things over.

After having lost $4.3 billion from 2007 to 2009, the company tried to regain its dominance and sales by introducing various products in the market. Their latest gadget introductions included Moto 360 smartwatch, which recently was momentarily shut down by Motorola.

As per GSM Arena, the company decided to retreat from the smartwatch showdown as they see no significant response from the consumers. The head of global product development at Moto, Shakil Barkat, confirmed that the company does not "see enough pull in the market to put [a new smartwatch] out at this time."

Now with all the hype and finances poured over the smartwatch project of Motorola, it cannot be helped to ask on which aspect did the company fail. Trusted wearable review site, Wareable, shared their view and comments regarding Moto smartwatches.

Based on the said general review, it highlighted one of the disappointments of the first Moto 360 which was its performance. Comparing it with its counterparts, the old TI processor did not do Moto 360 any favors. When it comes to the second generation Moto 360's functional edge, there are no real standout features on the company's classic smartwatch, Wareable commented.

In an industry where innovation is one of the keys of success and stability, it seemed like Motorola run short on the said aspect. However, this does not mean an end for Moto 360 at all. The company still believes that wrist still has a value. Thus, indicating a potential comeback soon. Guess we would just have to wait and see how things will work for Motorola and their smartwatches.
