High Tech Computer Corporation's (HTC) virtual reality wearable known as HTC Vive has been considered one of the best VR headsets in the market as of late. Due to such success, the Xindian-based tech firm is reportedly devising a follow-up to their award-winning VR device.

Talks are getting rife that HTC is back to the drawing board in developing another render of the aforementioned headset. If such rumors are anything to go by, it is said that that the yet to be announced iteration of the headset is initially monikered as "Oasis." Moreover, there were even rumor mills suggesting that such news about the upcoming VR headset was affirmed by HTC's Rikard Steiber, though it was later on doused and proven to be untrue.

Meanwhile, details about the rumored VR device is scanty as of the moment. However, the so-called "Vive 2" is  believed to be a cordless successor as it was also noted that HTC has teamed up with a Bulgarian firm named Quark VR in making such technology with the next Vive headgear.

In addition, according to Neurogadget, HTC is planning to go head on with Facebook-acquired Oculus provided that the new Vive would come to fruition. That being said, the Vive 2 is expected to be stashed with upgraded specs and other add-ons that would go at par with the Oculus Rift.

HTC, on the other hand, has remained tight-lipped about the wearable including its launch and release date. Nonetheless, other reports assume that the Vive 2 might see the light of day during the first quarter of next year as it is believed that the Taiwanese brand will be making an official statement about it in the following months including its price which is expected  to be quite steep.
