The Surface Pro lineup has been the trendsetter when it comes to tablet-laptop hybrids and before the next model hits, the current model Surface Pro 4 is being discounted in "12 Days of Deals".

It is the season to be jolly and Microsoft is determined to provide customers with the best deals possible. To this end the company which has a solid Surface lineup of hybrids has indicated that it will once again be including it in its "12 Days of Deals".  This year the deals have been spread through a range of Dell PCs, the HTC Vive, the Surface Pro 4 and video games, which are the highlights of the 12 days, The Verge reported.

The "12 Days of Deals".  being offered start from Monday, Dec. 5 and will last until the Dec. 16. They will be available in retail stores in the United States and Canada but can also be taken advantage of online starting at 12AM PT each day. On its website, Microsoft listed the deals and indicated that customers can avail of them as long as supplies were available.

Among the deals on offer two are specifically for the Surface Pro 4 lineup. One of these is for the Intel Core m3 model Surface Pro which will become $250 cheaper on Dec. 8 and will come with a free sleeve. Another deal on the Surface Pro 4 is on Dec. 16 when selected Surface Pro 4 models will be offered at a $200 discount and they will be bundled with a Type Cover which brings the saving up to $349.

With discounts on the Surface Pro 4 lineup coming up during the holidays, analysts are speculating that Microsoft might be readying for the release of the Surface Pro 5. The Surface Pro 4 was released last year in October so the lineup is due for a refresh. However, Microsoft seems to be waiting for the Kaby Lake processor to go into mass production reported PhoneArena, before updating the Surface Pro lineup.

There are also indications that the company is waiting for the new processor as they do not want a repeat of the power problems that the Surface Pro 4 experienced upon release. Added to this Microsoft is expected to ramp up the quality of the build of the Surface Pro 5 in attempts to make it the leading tablet-laptop hybrid in the market.
