Apple has issued public beta of iOS 10.2 over the weekend and it's likely that the full version will go live this week. But to date, there is no indication that Team Pangu will release the jailbreak version of iOS 10 anytime soon. But really, no jailbreak tool coming out at all is not entirely a bad news.

Or Pangu unable to finalize what it has started on a jailbreak work is not surprising at all. The last heard from the Chinese hacking was in July 2016 when Cydia was shown running on iOS 10 even before the Apple mobile OS was officially released. Back then speculations went wild that Team Pangu could even preempt Apple with an iOS 10 jailbreak release.

But the jailbreak did not materialize and the devs went into silent mode. No word from the group got out until now except the recent assurance from Cydia creator Saurik that Pangu remains committed to providing a public jailbreak and the group is the only trusted source of the JB tool.

Saurik, however, never mentioned a jailbreak touchdown timing, further fanning the speculation that Pangu may have abandoned the project with many saying that the group got frustrated with Apple's update pace of releasing patches nearly every week.

So truth to be told, an iOS jailbreak release happening this 2016 or early next year is not written in stone, and it is not a bad thing really if indeed Pangu, TaiG or any other developers have already given up. After all, no jailbreak will make Apple very happy.

According to Neurogadget, it is obvious that Apple disapproves of modifying the closely guarded iOS and for good reasons. For one, a jailbroken iPhone or iPad is exposed to security vulnerabilities as an installed JB tool blocks security updates by default.

The tech giant also warned that in a jailbreak state, unstable operations and shorter battery life are surefire downsides, along with possible issues when making calls or browsing the net. In short, for the averages users there is just too much inconvenience that comes with jailbreaking so Pangu finalizing a JB tool is not necessarily a bad news. And for the most part, this is true to the majority of iPhone and iPad users.

But then again, rumors continue to swirl that Team Pangu could still pull off a big surprise and release an iOS 10 jailbreak real soon. And one possible key element to drop with the tool is open source feature that practically will allow iOS users the same privileges that Android device owners have been enjoying.
