"Batman: Telltale Series" fans are in for a very jolly season. The last and fifth episode of the game, titled "City of Light," will be released on Dec. 13 on all platforms. Game developer Telltale Games is also offering the first episode of the game series totally free on Steam.

The studio just announced on their official website that the concluding episode of their "Batman" game series will arrive next week and fans will get to see the leader of the Children of Arkham unleashing his final act of terror. The villain is now prepared to destroy Gotham's Wayne family once and for all. Players will have to make wise decisions in order to stop the destruction of the city, save their loved ones, and keep the family's secret from being discovered.

The studio added, "It's been a hard fought battle to protect Gotham and stand for justice against dangerous forces, but it all comes down to this. We can't wait for you to jump back in and see how your Caped Crusader story concludes."

Additionally, the upcoming fifth episode of "Batman: Telltale Series" will start in a different area for each player. The next installment's starting place will depend on the player's previous adventures in the third act of Episode 4, according to PlayStation Lifestyle.

Meanwhile, Telltale Games released a performance patch for the caped crusader game last Dec. 3. The patch makes the game compatible with other PC configurations.  It also brought in several bug fixes that have been reported by the fans. The game will now be able to detect the best configuration depending on the player's PC hardware. Of course, players can still fine tune the game by checking the Grapics control under Settings.

Moreover, the studio is now offering Episode 1 as a free-to-download game on its Steam game page. This is to entice more Batman fans to join the crusade against the Children of Arkham.

"Batman: The Telltale Series Episode 5" will be available starting Dec.13 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. It is also available for iOS and Android devices.
